Helen M. (Haugen) Kapperman, daughter of Myron and Millie (Rix) Haugen, was born on August 13, 1932 in Hartford, SD and passed away peacefully with her family at her side, at the age of 91 on April 27, 2024. She grew up in Hartford and graduated from Hartford High School in1950. After high school she graduated from Dakota State College in Madison, SD with a bachelor’s degree in education. Helen was united in marriage with Jerome Kapperman on July 16, 1956 at St. George Catholic Church in Hartford, SD.

Grateful for having shared her life are her countless in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Nels Haugen, Marvin Haugen, and Allen Haugen; and her husband: Jerome.

On Thursday, May 2, 2024, 5:30 PM there will be visitation beginning at St. Therese Catholic Church with a Scripture Vigil at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, May 3, 2024, 10:30 AM at St. Therese Catholic Church.
